Addiction. What a powerful word

Thrown like a bouquet from the bride to the bachelorette

And caught in the hands of an all but, lifeless corpse.

Addicts sell their priceless joys for a taste of sweetness.

A parasitic sweetness that overpowers completely,

Starving the body until there is nothing but waste,

Till there is nothing, but death and addiction triumphing.
