Rain and Night
The wind begins speaking as night creeps across my floor,
As a dragon blows and rages outside the window.
I sit upon my throne of gold, watching the rising moon.
Waiting for the entertainment in store.
The rain is gentle as it begins tapping its tune,
Matching the beat of my heart.
Tonight is the eve of lost visions and quiet thoughts.
Where the many seek respite from the gunshots
The friendless whisper their secrets to the stars,
And the lost follow the light above the spires.
Rain and night are a lullaby, so sweet to my ears.
Their voices are like the siren's, entrancing,
Weighted shoulders are eased, joyfully relaxing:
And the stress has disappeared.
Magical is the peace unearthing.
Reality is clasped in this song and dance,
And the world is shining in heaven's hands.
Tonight is there is rest and no thought concerning
Tomorrow morning's demands.
