Surrender To The Lord or Soldier On

 Surrender your Heart, Trust, and Control,

The chaos will ebb when you listen to the Lord.

I understand these words and place my trust in a higher power

But someone dear struggles, he is wrestling with God at ev'ry hour

And the more he fights, the greater he fails, 

The more he listens to doubting liars covered in horns and scales.

The more his page splinters, cracking with the weight of regrets.

SURRENDER. SURRENDER.SURRENDURE. 

                                           🕈

It's from fear and stubbornness this man refuses to rest

He believes giving way control leads to more duress,

That in his capable hands, this trial can be passed

For God is only prayed to by the uncapable and harassed

And he is filled with the fire of youth, strong and bold!

There is no reason to fail reaching those far-off goals

No reason to think his dreams may fade,

By refusing to offer those precious gifts every day 

Back to the Lord who gifted them.

WALK ALONE. WALK ALONE. WALK ALONE.

My only comfort is prayer, watching him walk this path alone

We've separated and cannot hear each other ov'r the phone.

This hardship is another cross on our young souls 

Because time hasn't flown, only crawled since the cold

Crept through our windows, freezing the flames

That inspired our spirits to move forward each day. 

Is this failure a self fulling prophecy of our fears? 

Will the choices we make now haunt our thoughts for years? 

Surrendering and praying

Patiently waiting,

For God to finish working on our separate lives

And till then we're walking the earth fully blind

As a dark fog covers our eyes.
