The End (The Loss of a Friend)

Music plays a final goodbye,
On colored wings, you now fly.
Your death brings the heavens to tears
Your life cut short by too many years.
Life is bittersweet and surviving is no easy feat.
Now I see you in this place,
Beautiful in death, cold marble on your face,
In a casket where you sweetly sleep.
Nearby a crowd loudly weeps
And despite the comfort being said
The priest, family, and friends
I still wonder,
Why did it have to end?
